Memphis Children's Clinic Office Procedures to Limit Spread of COVID-19

At Memphis Children’s Clinic, our top priority is the health and safety of all of our patients and their families. We are experiencing a global pandemic of COVID-19, a type of coronavirus. This usually causes mild cold symptoms, but in this instance has the potential to cause serious widespread illness.

There is good news: unlike with other infectious diseases such as influenza, data so far shows that children tend to have much milder disease than adults.

We are taking steps to limit the spread of COVID-19 in our community. We also want to reassure our patients who need check-ups that we are separating check-ups from sick visits in location and time.

Here are the changes to our regular scheduling:

  • Check-ups, ADHD consults/follow-ups, and similar appointments will be held in the morning (8-12)
  • Sick patients will be brought in during afternoon hours (2-5PM)
  • On SATURDAYS we have three dedicated clinics for well child check-ups and three dedicated to sick visits only. These will alternate every week, so please call for an appointment
  • We are also offering TELEMEDICINE VISITS for patients who may not need to be seen in the office. Please call for an appointment
  • All patients who need to come into the office for sick visits will be asked a set of triage questions
  • NO WALK IN APPOINTMENTS. This is for the safety of our patients, our families, and our staff. It is very important that anyone with a strong suspicion of COVID-19 infection *not* come to the office; instead, call our office, and we will provide instructions based on current guidelines from the CDC and health department.
  • This is a rapidly changing situation, and we will be updating our website and policies as needed.
