Memphis Children's Clinic Office Procedures to Limit Spread of COVID-19

At Memphis Children’s Clinic, our top priority is the health and safety of all of our patients and their families. We are experiencing a global pandemic of COVID-19, a type of coronavirus. This usually causes mild cold symptoms, but in this instance has the potential to cause serious widespread illness.

We are taking steps to limit the spread of COVID-19 in our community. We also want to reassure our patients who need check-ups that we are separating check-ups from sick visits in location and time.
Here are the changes to our regular scheduling and protocols:

  • Well baby/child/teen exams are typically held in the morning along with non-infectious visits (i.e. injuries, some rashes, mental health, etc.). Sick visits will be seen in the afternoon. Sometimes a Well Child exam can be scheduled in the afternoon to accommodate parent schedules as long as we can safely examine.
  • At the entrance, patients are screened for COVID risk with a recorded temperature and triage questions.
  • Only one adult per child should come into the clinic. Other adults may wait in the car during your visit. For patients 2 months and younger, two adults may come. To decrease unnecessary exposures, it would be best if no other children come to the appointment unless they are also being seen.
  • Everyone over 2 years old will be required to wear a mask in the office.
  • We are also offering TELEMEDICINE VISITS for patients who prefer to use this service and qualify based on symptoms.

It is very important that everyone call your office for an appointment. NO WALK IN APPOINTMENTS. This is for the safety of our patients, our families, and our staff.

This is a rapidly changing situation, and we will be updating our website and policies as needed.
