MCC Telemedicine Announcement Information

Memphis Children’s Clinic is offering visits via telemedicine in order to provide the same level of high-quality care to our patients where they are rather than making them come to us which would increase their exposure risk during the pandemic. Currently, we are scheduling telemedicine visits for acute sick visits and chronic medical conditions. We will also soon have the ability to perform EPSDT well-child visits needed for school by doing all the history and screening by video and then complete the physical exam later when the COVID pandemic allows, which will save time. We are still taking sick-child visits in the office on a case by case basis.

Setting up a Telemedicine appointment is simple; parents call the office for an appointment as usual and the appointment will be scheduled. Parents can participate in the virtual visit with any phone, tablet, or laptop as long as it has a camera and microphone.

It may be necessary for the parent to assist the doctor with the examination which means that you should have a light source ready to use if needed as well as the ability to measure weight and temperature, if possible.

A nurse will contact you before the appointment to check you in and a link will be sent to your device approximately 15 minutes before the scheduled exam time. This link will take you to a virtual waiting room where you will be joined by your doctor.
